MIKE
KUBERSKI
HEAD COACH
Mike grew up in the Brampton area and learned to play football at a young age through Brampton Minor Football. He took this love of football in to high school and played for St. Thomas Aquinas SS, winning multiple championships while learning the game from two amazing coaches, John Gismondi and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Moving to the next level and playing football at York University, it lead him to build a relationship with GM Mark Houlder, a coach for the Yoeman at the time. Along with coaches like Tom Arnott and Tom Gretes, Mike learned the value of coaching and giving back to the game that has given him so much.
Mike has been extremely fortunate to have won back to back Coach of the Year awards with the Grizzlies, and championships in the Ontario Varsity Football League as well as at the local high school level.
His goal and passion is to provide all athletes the same opportunities and mentorship he received, while playing one of the greatest games in the world.
MARK
HOULDER
DEFENSIVE TEAMS / SPECIAL TEAMS
Arriving in Canada from Trinidad and Tobago, football was the furthest thing from coach Houlder's mind. Having to adjust to the Canadian school system, football quickly become the opportunity to grow and opened him up to a whole new world.
Coach Houlder attributes his success in football and in life to the many friends and coaches that shaped his experience including Mr Bruce Dyce, Mr Peter Martin,Mr. Nobby Wirkowski, Mr. Ron Lancaster and Mr. Tom Arnott. Lucky to have the support of coaches and
mentors, his mission has shifted to providing others with a similar experience. From that vision, the GTA Grizzlies were born. There are a number of young men in the GTA that need support and guidance, and with many years of coaching under his belt, he has shown with the right people in your corner, anything is possible.
With a new year upon us, and the leadership of Karen Escoffery, Coach Houlder's vision of the "Jr double blue".
